Flintham is a village close to the A46 south of Newark. The history of Flintham village predates the Romans with archaeological evidence of dwellings in fields off Spring Lane.

The church of St Augustine of Canterbury is a grade 1 listed building and was recorded in the Domesday Book of 1086.
